Fairchild Moments 2
Because of the intense interest in the Chihuly exhibition (which continues through May 31), they’ve expanded the parking at Fairchild to include grassy areas normally a part of the larger, lower gardens, and it was there we parked. When I went to bring the car around, I saw more feral iguanas in ten minutes than I believe I’ve seen total iguanas in my entire life. They have a serious infestation of them, something I do hope they’re working with FWC to curb. These colorful plants with mangrove-like roots seem to attract iguanas. As I walked past, at one point I could count more than a dozen on the roots. Here’s a couple posing in high places.
