Web Content by Sandra Friend

You’re launching a new conference. It’s being held in a small town in Florida, not far from a major airport but far enough that it’s not well-known. How do you best help – and entice – registrants to attend?
Provide compelling content on your website, blog, Facebook page, and Twitter feed. What’s unique about the area? What are the lodging options? Are there activities that your attendees can enjoy? And where do you find this information?
Tourism bureaus can help, of course. But for objective research and excellent photography, hire someone who knows how to glean the gems from an area: a professional guidebook writer.
Since 1995, I’ve collected – and shared with an online audience – unique, offbeat, and genuine experiences that destinations have to offer. While my forte as a guidebook writer is nature-based and rural tourism, my background as a technical writer enables me to interview experts in any field – from avionics to zookeeping – and meld that knowledge with background research to create the content you need on your website now.
Please note: due to a long-term project of my own this year, I am taking on no new clients until November 2012. If your needs are immediate, I may be able to refer you to a peer who can work with you.
